Hayden Hooks has extensive experience serving as general counsel for counties, cities, boards of education, and other governmental entities. She also serves these entities and private businesses as defense counsel in employment matters, contract disputes, and civil rights claims.
Hayden was formerly a partner with the Albany law firm of Perry & Walters, LLP, where she served as a member of the firm’s governmental practice group. While at Perry & Walters, Hayden helped represent more than 38 governmental entities and institutional clients throughout Georgia. In addition, she frequently handled civil rights litigation on behalf of the Georgia School Board Association and the Georgia Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (GIRMA).
Hayden has served as a member of the Georgia Municipal Association Attorney Advisory Council, and she has authored continuing education programs for city and county attorneys. Hayden currently serves as County Attorney for Sumter County, a position she has held since 2022.
